IND vs ZIM: "Every Player Has A Favourite Ground, For Virat Kohli It Is Adelaide" - Sunil Gavaskar

Indian Cricket Team would be pumped up after defeating Bangladesh by 5 runs. The Men in Blue showed never to say die attitude as Bangladesh had a good start to the run chase. Virat Kohli, the dashing batter smashed his 3rd half-century of the tournament.

Virat Kohli made sure that he doesn’t throw away a good start. The batter looked in complete control as he had a clear game plan against Bangladesh bowlers. The peculiarity of his knock was that he rotated the strike on a consistent basis and frustrated the bowlers.

Sunil Gavaskar On Virat Kohli

Sunil Gavaskar was seen having an interaction with India Today and was asked about Virat Kohli.

“I think every player has a favourite ground. A ground where he feels comfortable. The wides of the ground are very good. When the crowd comes in, they know they are going to support you.

“I think for Kohli, it is the Adelaide ground. That’s where he got his first Test century, that’s where he got so many runs. That’s where he got a century in each innings as a captain. That’s where he got a hundred against Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup,” said Sunil Gavaskar.

“And all these runs were scored when India needed those runs badly. That certainly gives him the belief that whenever he comes to Adelaide, he will get those runs. And he showed that again today with that innings,” he added.

Virat Kohli An Asset

The former skipper knows his role very well due to which the rest of the batters can bat around him. Head Coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma would be relieved as they found their old Virat Kohli, who used to decimate the opponent.

The management though would be well aware of the fact that alone Virat Kohli can’t win the tournament. We all had witnessed how South Africa exposed India’s batting lineup when the team fell like a pack of cards.
