Team India has done a decent job since captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid took charge after the 2021 T20 World Cup last November.
They have beaten New Zealand, England and West Indies quite comfortably. However, they couldn’t do the same against the Proteas.

They’ve already tried 28 players in T20Is since the last World Cup while giving opportunities to some young guns specifically in the bowling department.
But things haven’t gone India’s way in the Asia Cup where they’ve already lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Four and have very bleak chances to qualify for the final.
The selection committee might take a few tough calls considering they’ve got just 6 more international games before the World Cup in Australia.
The team was doing pretty well before some injury concerns halted their momentum.
While Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel got injured before the Asia Cup, Ravindra Jadeja got injured after the Hong Kong game.
Reports have suggested that Jadeja has been ruled out of 2022 T20 World Cup due to a knee injury, which makes the selection of squad even more complicated.
Captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid might take the Afghanistan game as the last opportunity to try some different combination as the selectors need to submit a preliminary squad by September 16 to the ICC.

India’s Predicted Squad For ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Considering the recent performance here’s how the squad might look like :
1. Rohit Sharma
Rohit will lead the side. He has looked 100% fit in the Asia Cup and his knock of 72 against Sri Lanka made sure he’s in form as well.

2. KL Rahul
Rahul will be Rohit’s deputy. He has returned to the squad after four months of recovering from an injury but looks like he’s fit for the World Cup.

3. Virat Kohli
With his three consecutive 30+ scores in the Asia Cup, Virat has put a full stop to all the debate about his selection before the World Cup.

4. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav is India’s top-ranked batter and has sealed a spot for him in the World Cup with his recent performances while scoring at a strike rate of 172.75.

5. Rishabh Pant
Rishabh did well against West Indies and South Africa and has taken his keeping skills to the next level in the last year.

6. Hardik Pandya
Hardik Pandya will be India’s biggest bet in the Australian conditions. He’s done exceedingly well with the bat and is getting wickets as well in almost every single game.

7. Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik will find a slot as a specialist finisher. The Indian Team will use him in the last 4-5 overs. There will be a tussle between Karthik and Pant for the wicketkeeper spot.

8. Deepak Hooda
India’s latest addition to the batting order is amongst runs right from his debut. He did well against England and got a ton against Ireland in July.

9. Axar Patel
Axar Patel will come as a like-to-like replacement for Ravindra Jadeja. He’s fairly economical as a bowler and can bowl in powerplay as well.

10. Jasprit Bumrah
One man whom India missed the most in Asia Cup is Jasprit Bumrah. He’ll possibly return to the squad for the World Cup as India’s pace bowling leader.

11. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar will be vital for India’s success with the new ball. He looks in a fine rhythm now and got four crucial wickets against Pakistan.

12. Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal was dropped from India’s squad for the World Cup 2021, since then he has possibly done everything to regain his lost spot in the team.

His three-wicket haul almost seized the game for India against Sri Lanka.
13. Ravi Bishnoi
Ravi Bishnoi will play as the second front-line spinner. His ability to bowl in every situation of the game makes him a vital component of the squad.

14. Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel will return after the hip injury he’s sustained. Team India has used him as a death bowling specialist who’s able to take pace off the ball at the death.

15. Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep has bowled some crucial overs for India since he made his debut. The way he bowled the last over against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka gives him a sure-shot place in the squad.
