Mohammed Shami Back In Plan For ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 India Squad- Reports

Mohammed Shami might be back in the Indian team for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The BCCI selection committee is set to conduct a meeting in Mumbai on Monday to finalize the India squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2022 and the forthcoming home series against Australia and South Africa.

ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is set to commence on October 16 next month. India will play their opening game against Pakistan on October 23. Ahead of the tournament, India will also face Australia in a T20I series and South Africa in a T20I and ODI series.

Mohammed Shami Back In Plan For ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 India Squad- Reports

According to some reports by PTI, Mohammed Shami will be back in the consideration for T20 World Cup 2022 squad. Shami was overlooked for the Asia Cup 2022 recently, where India suffered a poor show failing to reach the final. Mohammed Shami’s absence became a big topic of discussion among fans and experts after India’s exit from the tournament.

Now, some PTI inputs have revealed that Mohammed Shami is very much back into the consideration for T20 World Cup 2022 squad. BCCI will announce their squad for the ICC tournament today. Moreover, the source also revealed that Jasprit Bumrah is totally fit for taking up the field.

India is part of group 2 in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 along with teams like Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh in their pool. Two more teams will join the group later after the qualifier round. India is also scheduled to play two warm-up games ahead of the tournament.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, India will also host Australia for a three-match T20I series and South Africa for a three-match T20I and three-match ODI series. The India vs Australia T20I series will take place from September 20 to 25. The India vs South Africa T20I and ODI series will be played from September 28 to October 11.
