PAK vs NED: Shoaib Malik Slams Pakistan After Defeats To India And Zimbabwe

The veteran Pakistan National Cricket Team player Shoaib Malik has criticized Babar Azam and Co. saying that they don’t even know the proper cricketing rules, referring to the dead-ball controversy in the India-Pakistan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 clash.
The final over of the T20 World Cup 2022 India-Pakistan high-octane clash was ridiculously dramatic. On the 4th ball of the over when India required 13 off three balls, spinner Mohammad Nawaz delivered a high full-toss and Virat Kohli smashed the ball for a brilliant six over the deep square leg.

Kohli instantly protested that it should be called a no-ball for being above the waist, and the on-field umpires made a late decision in India’s favor.
The next ball delivered by the spinner was a wide that extended the free-hit ball and on the actual free-hit delivery, Nawaz castled Kohli, but since it was a free hit, the batter was safe. Also, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik ran three byes as the ball trickled down towards the third man.
The Pakistan players were left confused after Team India was given three runs and they were seen arguing with the on-field umpires.
If there is a leakage in the pipe, the permanent solution is to change the pipe – Shoaib Malik
After the defeat of Pakistan against Zimbabwe in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, Shoaib Malik and Misbah-ul-Haq were analyzing the game. Misbah said that the Men In Green were not prepared for the Australian conditions, it was then, that Malik chipped in to assert that the players don’t even know that the ball is not dead when it hits the stumps on a free hit, then talking about conditions is secondary.
“They don’t know that the ball is not dead when it hits the stumps on a free hit, so leave other things aside. They don’t even know this, so talking about which conditions you have to play in, is another matter. We just try to find short-term solutions,” said Malik.
“If there is a leakage in the pipe, the permanent solution is to change the pipe. But we try to bridge the gap. You need to change the pipe,” he added.
According to the MCC Laws of Cricket, the ball can only become dead when “it is finally settled in the hands of the wicketkeeper or of the bowler”, or when “a boundary is scored.”
The ball can also be called a dead ball when “a batter is dismissed. The ball will be deemed to be dead from the instant of the incident causing the dismissal.”
