The Proteas losing to the Netherlands in their final game meant that Pakistan needed to win against Bangladesh to make the semis which they did.

If Pakistan manages to beat the Kiwis and India manages to beat England, there will be an India vs Pakistan final at the MCG on November 13. Both teams played in the final of the first-ever T20 World Cup in 2007. There is a possibility that they play again in 2022.
