India beat Afghanistan by 101 runs in their last match in the Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli exploded with a century in this match. After this, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 5 wickets to put Afghanistan on the back foot and recorded career-best figures. Kumar surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal to become India’s highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket.

After taking 5 wickets against Afghanistan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar became the highest wicket-taker for India in the T20 format. Before this match, Yuzvendra Chahal took the most wickets for India. Kumar took 84 wickets in 77 matches and Chahal took 83 wickets in 66 matches.

I Don’t Think He Will Be A Good Option For India In T20 World Cup – Salman Butt

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt believes that senior bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will not be useful for Team India in the T20 World Cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 11 wickets in the current Asia Cup but conceded most runs in the death overs.

Salman Butt believes that Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a good new ball bowler but he lacks pace which allows hitters to attack him in the death.

“He is conceding a lot of runs in the death but taking wickets in the initial overs. The ball is slightly swinging here (in UAE). But good teams will negate this much swing easily. The bowling wasn’t that difficult. Afghanistan batters hit through the lines, and most of them are power hitters. They don’t have proper technique and that’s why couldn’t negate the swing. Bhuvneshwar struggles with pace in death overs. He doesn’t have pace and that’s why batters are not afraid of taking him on. I don’t think he will be a good option for India at the T20 World Cup,” Butt said during a discussion on his YouTube channel.

India will play home series against Australia and South Africa in limited-overs cricket before leaving for Australia for the T20 World Cup in October. India is likely to field the best XI in 6 T20 matches. Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are likely to make their comeback.
