Twitter Reacts As Dinesh Karthik Is Replaced By Rishabh Pant In India's Playing 11 vs Zimbabwe In ICC T20 World Cup

In place of wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik, India, who hasn’t shied away from fiddling with effective lineups recently, has added wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant to their playing XI.

Dinesh Karthik had a back spasm earlier in the competition, but he has since recovered, and the team management chose to leave him out so that Pant could get a chance. It wouldn’t be incorrect to assume that the 37-year-old player’s present performance in the competition may not have been in his favor either.

Rishabh Pant To Play His First Game Of T20 World Cup 2022

Pant, 25, played two exhibition matches against Western Australia last month before his debut World Cup game. Pant’s participation makes pacer Harshal Patel the only Indian player who hasn’t participated in a T20I during this competition.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe has made a few adjustments to their starting lineup by replacing Milton Shumba and Luke Jongwe with all-rounder Tony Munyonga and spinner Wellington Masakadza.
