Earlier, Bangladesh National Cricket Team won the toss and elected to bowl first in the match. They made a sole change to the playing XI as Shoriful Islam replaced Soumya Sarkar. India National Cricket Team, on the other hand, brought back Axar Patel in the playing XI for Deepak Hooda.
Batting first, India National Cricket Team lost the wicket of captain Rohit Sharma in the 4th over itself. However, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli batted very well and they had a 67-run partnership in 37 balls.
Rahul was cleaned up by Shakib Al Hasan in the 10th over after scoring 50 runs off 32 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes. The Bangladesh captain also ended Suryakumar Yadav’s quickfire 30-run knock in the 14th over.
In the end, India lost quick wickets of Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik and Axar Patel. However, Ravichandran Ashwin smashed a couple of good boundaries and Virat Kohli remained unbeaten to help India post 184/6 on the board. Kohli smashed terrific 64 runs off 44 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six.
Talking about the Bangladesh bowlers, young pacer Hasan Mahmud bagged three wickets and spinner Shakib Al Hasan bagged 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, Litton Das provided his side with an exceptional start in the match. Bangladesh were at 66/0 after 7 overs, before the rain interrupted the play. Due to the rain, the overs were reduced to 16 and Bangladesh got the revised target of 151 runs.
Soon after the play resumed, Bangladesh lost the wickets of Litton Das, who scored 27-ball 60, Najmul Hossain Shanto (21), Afif Hossain (3) and Shakib Al Hasan (13).
In the end, Bangladesh needed 20 runs off 6 balls to win. They were unable to chase the target and were restricted to 145/6. Notably, Nurul Hasan played an incredible 25-run cameo knock and Taskin Ahmed chipped in with crucial 12 runs to help the Bangla Tigers get closer to the win.

A rain marred thriller here at Adelaide tonight. Gotta feel for @BCBtigers after the start they got. But brilliant comeback by the Indian bowlers to seal a win and make it to the top of the table! #InvBan #T20WorldCup

Despite ending on the wrong side of the result Bangladesh's performance today offers a template for how underdogs should tackle these games: they front-loaded their bowling, set aggressive fields & attacked the Powerplay with the bat. High-risk, high-reward cricket. #T20WorldCup

The way India came back after the rain break back was seriously impressive. Under massive pressure their bowlers & fielders delivered. Impossible not to feel for Bangladesh & wonder how things might have panned out if it hadn't rained. Another great game of cricket. #T20WorldCup

Arshdeep you beauty ?
— HH12 (@Hip_hop_india12) November 2, 2022
Not the best of overs bowled by Arshdeep here, despite the win. But again, the best part was him getting back to playing percentage cricket by attempting yorkers in the last 4 balls after being hit for a six towards the shorter boundary. Still early days for him, but he's shown
