The young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh came to bowl his first over in the second over of the match after Bhuvneshwar Kumar had bowled a brilliant first over. On the first ball of the second over, Arshdeep trapped Babar LBW and sent him back for a golden duck.

Arshdeep, who was bowling his first ball in a World Cup, started off his spell with an inswinger and the Pakistan skipper got beaten due to the enormous movement in the air. Babar was looking to work the ball across the line, got beaten and the ball crashed into the pads.

On-field umpire Marais Erasmus instantly raised the finger, but Babar went for a review. The Ultra-Edge confirmed there was no bat involved and the DRS showed three reds.

Also, Arshdeep has become only the second bowler after Fazalhaq Farooqi to dismiss Babar for a first-ball duck in T20Is.

Former India National Cricket Team batter Suresh Raina made a bold prediction ahead of the high-profile India-Pakistan T20 World Cup game, asserting that the young left-arm pacer Arshdeep will dismiss the Pakistan captain Babar in the mouth-watering clash. Speaking to Quint, Raina said:

“He is good skipper and a really good cricketer. He has done really well for his team. But hopefully, when he comes to play against us, Arshdeep Singh will get him out.”
