Virat Kohli does not take a day off, especially when he is preparing for a major competition like the World Cup. Kohli had recently rejoined the Indian team after a lengthy absence from international cricket.

He acknowledged that at that time he had not “taken up his bat.” And the former captain of India made a triumphant comeback, scoring an astonishing 122 against Afghanistan at the Asia Cup to snap a three-year century drought.

Since then, Kohli has been in remarkable form and appears to have perfectly moulded himself into India’s new batting model for T20 international cricket. He would not want to let go of this form. Therefore, Kohli lost no time in hitting the nets once more after India’s T20 World Cup warm-up match against Australia finished at the Gabba on early Monday evening.

After arriving in Australia, Kohli was rested for India’s first two exhibition games against Western Australia, a team headed by Rohit Sharma.

Nevertheless, despite not scoring as much as he would have wanted, he was reinserted into the starting lineup for the match against the hosts and reigning T20 world champions, Australia. After facing 13 balls, Kohli scored 19 points before being stopped by Mitchell Starc’s shorter pitch.

Virat Kohli Joins Pakistani Squad For Practice Session

Moments after the game, Kohli joined the Pakistan squad in the Gabba’s nets for a 40-minute practice session, during which he was bowled largely shorter deliveries.

The Pakistani team’s Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were also in the practice nets and were practising their batting in the one right next to Kohli’s.

After the lengthy batting practice, Kohli approached India head coach Rahul Dravid, who had been present the entire time, and spoke with him. Their conversation seemed to focus mostly on the types of deliveries Kohli encountered and the dismissal he suffered against Australia.
