The 24-year-old England National Cricket Team left-arm pacer Sam Curran got the opening breakthrough for his side in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 summit clash as he cleaned up the star Pakistan National Cricket Team opening batsman Mohammad Rizwan.
The blockbuster final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 is being played between the Three Lions and the Men In Green at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Sunday, November 13.

England National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to field first in the match. Both the teams made no changes to their playing XI and they fielded the same team as they did in the semi-finals.
Pakistan openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, who were heading into the final after performing brilliantly in the first semi-final against New Zealand National Cricket Team, failed to build a good partnership in the high-octane match.
Sam Curran Dismisses Mohammad Rizwan In 5th Over
Rizwan and Babar added 29 runs in 27 balls before Curran dismissed the former on the 2nd ball of the 5th over. The wicketkeeper-batter Rizwan scored 15 runs off 14 balls, including 1 six.
The left-arm pacer bowled a full-length delivery that slanted away outside off, inviting the cover drive. Rizwan wanted to smash the ball through the covers, but he only managed to get an inside edge and the ball went on to crash into the stumps.
Meanwhile, Curran, who has been the go-to bowler for England in the ongoing edition of the World Cup, has now become the bowler with the most wickets for England in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. He has bagged 11 wickets in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
