Harshal Patel slipped in a full, slower ball with Australia needing 16 off 11, but Josh Inglis mistimed it to the leg side. In a single motion, Virat Kohli, who was positioned at short mid-wicket, ran across the field, grabbed the ball, and fired a direct hit onto the stumps to dismiss Tim David.

A ball earlier, Harshal had dismissed back-to-back well-positioned Aaron Finch (76 off 54) with a perfect slower in-dipping yorker, bringing India back into the match.

Virat Kohli was not yet finished. He made an outstanding one-handed catch to dismiss Pat Cummins in the following over, which helped India maintain their hold. India defeated Australia by six runs thanks to Kohli, who first ran out Tim David with a sensational throw before hitting Pat Cummins with a one-handed stunner in the final over.
