The match between England Women and New Zealand women has been rescheduled from June 29 to June 30 due to the clash with the T20 World Cup final. The ODI match between the two sides was supposed to be played on June 29 at the New Road in Worcester but now it will take place a day after the previously scheduled date at the same venue. It is the second ODI of the three-match series where the first ODI will be played at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-street on June 26.

The second ODI which was scheduled for June 29 at the New Road in Worcester will now be played on June 30 at the same venue whereas the third ODI of the series will be played at the County Ground in Bristol on July 3. New Zealand Women will tour England Women to play three ODIs and five T20Is commencing on June 26. The five-match T20I series will commence on July 6.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to commence on June 1, 2024, and it will be hosted jointly by the West Indies and the United States. This time the T20 World Cup will be played in three rounds, the group stage round, the Super Eight, and then the Knockouts. Both the semi-finals will be played on June 27 whereas the final will be played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on June 29. The timing of the matches will be 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM according to the Indian Standard Time (IST). The 29-day event will commence on June 1 right after the IPL and the groups are already divided.

England is the defending champion of the T20 World Cup

England won the last edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2022 which was held in Australia. They defeated India in the semi-finals by 10 wickets and then went on to defeat Pakistan in the finals by five wickets to win their second ICC T20 World Cup title. England has been one of the strongest white ball teams and their record in T20Is has been brilliant in recent times.

They are one of the strongest contenders to win the title and have all the abilities to defend their title. England has been drawn to Group B which consists of Oman, England, Australia, Namibia, and Scotland. They should easily qualify for the Super 8s and Australia is the only competition in this group for them.

Jos Buttler is likely to lead the side in the T20 World Cup and he will expect a better performance from his side than the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup which was held in 2023 and England ended up being seventh among ten teams in the competition despite being defending champions, winning the World Cup in 2019 on a controversial boundary count rule after drawing the super over with New Zealand in the finals.
