ICC Womens Bowling Rankings 2026
The ICC Women's bowling rankings is a system to rank the bowlers of international women's cricket using a point based system. The players are rated on a scale of 0 to 1000 rating points.
While the players who meet ICC's eligibility criteria get a score, the governing body of the game releases the ranking of only the top 100. As far as the eligibility criteria is concerned, the players need to have appeared in a match within the qualifying period to appear in the ICC rankings. (normally 12-15 months for Tests, 9 -12 months for T20s and ODIs).
Usually, the rankings are taken by many as a measure of the players' present form. However, the ICC rankings take into account the player's entire career. So, if a player's performance is improving compared to her past record, her points increases. On the contrary, if her performance is on decline, her points will go down.
While calculating the rating points, the performance of the player is not the only criteria. Apart from the performance, several other factors - such as the importance of the game, the condition as well as the quality of the opposition - are also taken into account.
At present, the ICC releases the ICC women's bowling rankings only for ODIs and T20Is. Even though some teams do play Tests, the ICC does not release the rankings for Test players and teams. England's Sophie Ecclestone is currently the number one ODI and T20I bowler in the world.
