England and New Zealand go head to in the third and final Test of the series at Headingley, Leeds from July 23. England won the first two Tests and their win at Trent Bridge was their 50th over the Kiwis in Tets cricket. They are looking to whitewash their opponents at home. ECB has already named the playing XI with Jamie Overton added to the squad in place of the injured James Anderson.
Meanwhile, after their win at Trent Bridge, England were deducted two points from their tally. Richie Richardson of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after England was ruled to be two overs short of the target. The Ben Stokes-led side was to be on 42 points but ended up on 40 after the two points were deducted.
However, all the focus is now on the final Test match at Leeds. The venue is one of the lucky grounds for Stokes who has played a few good knocks here. The unbeaten century in the 2019 Ashes series that took England to a win is still fresh in the mind of the England fans.
New Zealand, overall, does not have a good record against England in Test matches. In 109 matches, the Kane Williamson-led ide has won just 12 matches. They have a win percentage of just 11 which is one of their worst against their top-ranked Test nations. They won their last Test series against England in 2021 by a 1-0 margin.
