Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test

Sri Lanka and Pakistan go head to head in the second test in Galle starting from July 24. The hosts lost the first Test and are trailing the series 0-1. They need to win the second test to draw level in the series. Pakistan. on the other hand, would like to complete a whitewash. The series is a part of the ongoing ICC WTC.

Dimuth Karunaratne will lead the Lanks while Babar Azam will lead Pakistan. Babar scored 119 in the first innings and 55 in the second innings in a chase of 344. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi has been ruled out of the second Test with a knee injury.

“First innings we did well with the ball. I should thank the tailenders for the support they gave me, especially Naseem Shah. We know how to play spin so we believed. Me and Abdullah were just trying to build a partnership. As a youngster, he is showing a lot of class. Really pleasing to see him perform well” said the Pakistan skipper after winning the Test match.

Karunaratne, on the other hand, rued the lack of runs in the first innings. They were bowled out for 222 in the first innings and 337 in the second. Angelo Mathews will play his 100th Test match in Galle starting from Sunday.

“Playing 100 Test matches is a remarkable thing. We want to give Angelo a memorable game. We will try our best and correct the mistakes” said the Lakan skipper on Mathews’s 100th Test match.

“I think if we put more runs in the first innings we could have put more pressure on Pakistan. But we batted well in the second innings. With the ball, we could not support Prabath from the other end. We had to give him more support” he further added on the team’s poor batting performance in the first test.
