England had won the toss and had opted to bat first at Multan. England made a record by smashing the highest amount of runs in the 1st session as Ben Stokes led side scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. England was outdone by the sheer brilliance of the debutant Abrar Ahmed as the right-arm leg spinner took a 7-wicket haul.

Pakistan in response once again failed to make a mark on a flat deck. The team got bundled out for 202 runs as the team lost 7 wickets for 60 runs. England’s bowlers hunted in a pack as the dismissal of Babar Azam led to a dramatic collapse. Jack Leach was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4 wickets and gave away 98 runs in his 27 overs.

Mark Wood was the wrecker in chief as the speedster took 4 wickets and was quite ruthless in his approach. The Men in Green would be utterly disappointed with their performance as once again they failed to win the crunch moments of the match.
