Aakash Chopra the former Indian opener has shared his predictions for the second ODI between India and Australia. The match will be played in Indore on Sunday (September 24). India won the first ODI by five wickets and Australia are desperate to level the series.

The three-match series is a perfect dress rehearsal for the two teams ahead of their ICC 2023 World Cup game in Chennai on October 8. KL Rahul will lead India in the second ODI. Under his captaincy without the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India beat their counterparts by five wickets.

The win was designed by Mohammed Shami’s fifer and then the batters chased down the target of 277 with a good opening partnership followed by good middle-order batting. All the batters had a good hit out batting Shreyas Iyer who was run out early.

Aakash Chopra Rates Indore Track As The Flattest In India

Now Aakash Chopra has said that the second ODI between India and Australia will be a high-scoring encounter. The match will be played in Indore which is a high-scoring ground with small boundaries.

“There are three kinds of pitches you get to see in Indore Flat, Flatter, Flattest,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

He further said that the Men in Blue might test their bench strength in this game hinting at the inclusion of Tilak Varma and Washington Sundar. While Tilak has been added to the Indian squad for the series, Sundar was retained from the Asia Cup final squad. He is a replacement for Axar Patel in the side.

The last time India played in Indore was in January 2023 against New Zealand. They piled up a mammoth 389 on the back of centuries from Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. Shardul Thakur won the Player of the Match for his three wickets and his cameo with the bat scoring 25 off 17 balls as well.
