India head coach Rahul Dravid’s son has been included in the Karnakata state team for the 2023 Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The U-19 tournament, hosted in Hyderabad will be played from October 12 to 20.

samit who turns 18 on the eve of the competition has represented the U-14 team but this will be his very first taste of U-19 cricket. Dravid’s younger son, Anvay is captain of the U14 cricket team for the state.

Rahul Dravid himself has represented Karnakata at U-15, U-17 and U-19 levels, making his Ranji debut during the 1991/92 season. Gradually he became one of the best ever to have played for India and all over the world.

Rahul Dravid Might Not Watch His Son Play In Vinoo Mankad Tournament

Dravid might not watch his son play in the Vinood Mankad tournament with the tournament clashing with the ICC World Cup 2023. As a captain, Dravid had led India in the 2007 World Cup.

India faced a group stage exit after losses to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Now as a coach, he has a chance to win the World Cup at home. Dravid took over as the head coach of the Indian cricket team after the T20 World Cup in 2021.

Under him, India lost the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, the WTC 2023 final before finally winning the Asia Cup 2023 heading into the World Cup at home.

Dravid recently spoke about backing Suryakumar Yadav for the World Cup after his relatively disappointing start. SKY stood up on Dravid’s words as he scored his third ODI fifty which came in a winning cause in the first ODI against Australia. Surya scored three consecutive ducks against Australia in an ODI series played earlier this year.

“We completely back Suryakumar Yadav. We believe he will do well in ODI Cricket and turn things around in ODIs, and will be getting opportunity in the first two ODIs against Australia,” Dravid said ahead of the first ODI.
