Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja posted a special message after Team India’s special win in the fourth Test against England in Ranchi. He said that it was a cool win for the team in the hometown of Captain Cool, MS Dhoni.

In the hometown of MS Dhoni, India registered a famous win and clinched the Test series against England with one game still to go. The Rohit Sharma-led side displayed a sensational performance with both bat and ball and made sure that the hosts clinched the series in the fourth game itself.

India were off to the worst start in the game as England outplayed them on the first two days of the game. However, what was admirable was the way they made a comeback in the game. They bossed the game on the last two days and made sure they emerged victorious.

England posted a first-innings total of 353 runs on the board and then with the ball, they were all over the Indian team. They reduced the hosts to 177/7. But the fightback from Dhruv Jurel (90) brought them back in the game and helped them go past 300 runs.

In the second innings, India were off to a sensational start with the ball. Ravichandran Ashwin picked a fifer whereas Kuldeep Yadav bagged four and Ravindra Jadeja bagged one as the hosts bundled out the opposition for just 145 runs, setting themselves a target of just 192 runs.

In the chase, India tumbled a bit but Shubman Gill (52*) and Dhruv Jurel (39*) held the fort for the team. They batted quite maturely and made sure that India went past the finishing line and won the game by 5 wickets to go 3-1 up in the series.

Ravindra Jadeja played an instrumental role with the ball in the game. The all-rounder picked four wickets in the first innings and then chipped in with one wicket in the second innings. He also made handy contributions with the ball.

While sharing his excitement after the game, Ravindra Jadeja stated: “Cool victory in the hometown of captain cool.”

Batting at five there he struggled in terms of taking no risks  – Sir Alastair Cook on Ravindra Jadeja

Former England skipper Sir Alastair Cook recently shared his verdict on the batting position of Ravindra Jadeja. He said that the all-rounder struggles to take risks and shouldn’t be batting at No.5 for the team in Test cricket. Speaking to TNT Sports, he explained:

“Jadeja is a world-class all-rounder, but batting at five there he struggled in terms of taking no risks because he didn’t want to get out or trying to put a bit of pressure back on as a batter. But Jurel found that balance perfectly with his feet movement and sharpness of mind.”

Ravindra Jadeja has been exceptional in the series with bat and ball. The all-rounder has scored 217 runs with the bat and also has picked 17 wickets. He will be next seen in action when India will take on England in the fifth Test in Dharamsala, slated to take place from 7th March.
