India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has issued an apology to Sarfaraz Khan after the mix-up between the duo during the ongoing third Test match against England. The left-hander said that he felt bad for the debutant and admitted that it was his fault.

Sarfaraz Khan set the stage on fire in his debut game for India in Test cricket. The batter lived up to the expectation and played a magnificent innings. But it was an unfortunate end as he was involved in a horrible mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja and got run out.

During the last ball of the 82nd over, Ravindra Jadeja played a drive to mid-on and took a couple of steps, calling for a run but immediately after that turned the single down. Sarfaraz Khan had no chance of getting back and Mark Wood hit the bullseye to send the batter packing.

It was clearly Ravindra Jadeja’s fault as he was keen to get to his ton. Sarfaraz Khan too supported him well and sacrificed his wicket for the senior. The all-rounder however didn’t get good reactions after running the batter out. Even skipper Rohit Sharma was extremely disappointed.

With Ravindra Jadeja facing a lot of backlash for Sarfaraz Khan’s wicket, the all-rounder apologized to the batter. He posted a story on his Instagram account and admitted that he felt bad after he got out his partner out.

Feeling bad for Sarfaraz Khan. It was my wrong fall. Well played,” Ravindra Jadeja posted.

Ravindra Jadeja on the other hand slammed a magnificent century in front of his home crowd. The all-rounder was unbeaten at 110 runs at stumps on Day 1 and would be hoping to add more to his tally. He missed the second game due to injury and made a strong comeback.

Sarfaraz Khan was dominating in that partnership – Anil Kumble on a mix-up between Sarfaraz and Ravindra Jadeja

Anil Kumble after the end of Day 1, Anil Kumble shared his verdict on the run out of Sarfaraz Khan. He believes that Ravindra Jadeja got into the shell, which was one of the main reasons why the batter got out. Speaking on Jio Cinema, he explained:

Sarfaraz was dominating in that partnership. Jadeja, I thought had got into a shell, that sometimes creates a mindset where you are not clear about the decision making. And maybe that was one of the reasons and possibly I passed on my bad luck of getting run out on debut because I got run out on my debut. But at least he got 65 (Sarfaraz scored 62).”

Sarfaraz Khan looked very promising on his debut. The batter now would be hoping to make a mark in the second innings.
