The ouster of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja was two big blows for Team India during the IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam. However, the duo is highly likely to return in the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja were the best performers with the bat in the opening Test.

While KL Rahul slammed 86 runs in IND vs ENG 1st Test, Jadeja arrived with a top knock of 87 runs. Their knocks helped India to outpast England’s total in the 1st innings by 190 runs. Jadeja also grabbed 5 wickets in the match.

However, both of them were ruled out of the 2nd Test due to injuries. While KL Rahul sustained a quad string injury, Jadeja was hit by a hamstring. As a result, both of them were sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for recovery and rehabilitation.

KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja expected to return in IND vs ENG 3rd Test

According to reports, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja are highly expected to return in IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot. If not both, at least one of them is expected to be part of the next encounter against England.

The NCA physio monitoring their progress will submit a final report on their fitness soon. Since the next Test begins after a week on February 15, there is quite enough time for both players to recover for the game.

Notably, Ravindra Jadeja becomes a crucial member in domestic Tests. With his ability to bowl, he becomes an additional spinner in the playing 11. Also, he can smack runs with the bat in the lower order, which helps the team to capture runs towards the end.

On the other hand, KL Rahul is an important member in the absence of Virat Kohli, who has opted out of the series citing personal reasons. KL Rahul grabs Kohli’s no.4 spot in batting and thus supports the middle-order.
