Ben Foakes showcased his extraordinary wicketkeeping skills on the third day of the ongoing second Test match against England in Visakhapatnam. Ben Foakes took a fantastic catch behind the stumps to dismiss Rajat Patidar for a low score in India’s second innings.

The home team lost both openers in the opening session of the third day of the second test on Sunday, February 4. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal managed to add just two runs to their total. James Anderson took the two wickets to restrict the Indian team to 30/2.

The hosts were showing promising form and appeared set to conclude the first session positively. However, Shreyas Iyer’s attempt to take on Tom Hartley in the 28th over led to his dismissal. He scored 29 runs off 52 deliveries, with the help of two boundaries.

Always Observe Virat Kohli’s Batting From The Back Of The Nets – Rajat Patidar

In a video shared by the BCCI, Rajat Patidar expressed admiration for Kohli’s batting style and is determined to incorporate those skills into his own game. He emphasized his aggressive approach, learning from experienced players like Rohit Sharma.

“I always observe his (Kohli’s) batting from the back of the nets, especially his footwork and body movement while batting is amazing. I enjoy watching him bat. I want to add those skills. It’s not easy, but am relentless about it,” Patidar said.

“I have an aggressive batting style and have batted like this since domestic cricket. It’s all about how you prepare. It has become a habit now. I study the pattern of opponent bowlers, how they place their field, and I observe how Rohit bhai tackles the field positions. I try to add these learnings into my game,” he added.

Rajat Patidar joined India’s Test squad for the first two matches against England, stepping in when Virat Kohli withdrew for personal reasons. The right-handed batter made his debut in the second Test due to injuries sidelining senior players Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul.

The Madhya Pradesh batter managed to score 39 runs in his first appearance for India in the red ball circket. He failed to convert his start into a big score in the first innings.
