Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj bamboozled England’s Rehan Ahmed with a sensational inswinging yorker during the ongoing third Test between the two teams. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Rehan Ahmed for just six runs in England’s first innings of the Rajkot Test.

The England cricket team started the third day’s play with 207 runs on the board and had lost two wickets. The visiting team maintained an almost run-a-ball scoring rate on the second day, with opener Ben Duckett contributing a remarkable 133 runs off 118 deliveries.

Jasprit Bumrah provided an early breakthrough for India, dismissing Joe Root in just his third over of the day. Root was caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal, positioned at second slip, while attempting a reverse ramp shot. Root scored 18 runs off 31 balls, including two fours.

Kuldeep Yadav dismissed Jonny Bairstow for a duck in the following over, leading to England’s collapse from 224/2 to 225/4 within the first hour of play. It’s noteworthy that India is without Ravichandran Ashwin, who withdrew due to a family medical emergency.

Ben Duckett was dismissed after scoring 153 runs off 151 balls, including 23 boundaries and two sixes. The Three Lions ended the first session without losing further wickets, reaching a total of 290/5 before the lunch break, with Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes at the crease.

After lunch, Ravindra Jadeja dismissed England skipper Ben Stokes for 41 runs off 89 balls. Stokes’ departure sparked England’s collapse. Mohammed Siraj removed Ben Foakes on the subsequent delivery, intensifying India’s dominance in the ongoing match.

The incident took place during the 70th over of England’s first innings. Mohammed Siraj bowled a full delivery, but Rehan Ahmed was late in bringing his bat down. The ball snuck through under the toe end and hit the base of the off-stump, resulting in Ahmed’s dismissal.

Mohammed Siraj was initially unaware of the dismissal and appealed to the on-field umpire. The England lower-order batter was dismissed after scoring six runs off 13 deliveries with the help of one boundary. The England team collapsed to 314/8 with the dismissal.

The Hyderabad-born cricketer went on to dismiss James Anderson to bowl out the opportunity for 319 runs. Siraj ended with 4 wicket for 84 runs in 21.1 overs. The hosts took a substantial 126-run lead after the completion of the first innings by both teams.

Earlier, Team India put up a strong total of 445 runs after choosing to bat first, with Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja both scoring centuries. Additionally, debutant Sarfaraz Khan made a significant contribution to the team’s score with 62 runs on the opening day.
