West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite talked about the thrashing loss his side suffered in the first Test of the series against India. He said that he’s disappointed with himself ad he didn’t lead from the front and showed the way to his team.

Only the toss went in their favour as after that they were pounded by the Indian team. After being asked to bat first, they were bundled out just 150 runs and then conceded a 271-run lead. If this was not enough, West Indies produced an even horrible batting display in the second innings as they were all out for just 130 runs and lost the game by an innings and 141 runs.

Kraigg Brathwaite also touted playing against Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja tough and said that players should have the right balance between defending and trying to score. Speaking during the post-match presentation, he said:

“I really want to thank the Dominica crowd for coming out. It was playing quite good on day one, we let ourselves down with the bat. It wasn’t spinning a lot. What disappointed me was I ddn’t get any runs. It is my job to lead from the front.

“First innings, we lost too many wickets, and as a senior guy I didn’t lead the way. (On playing Ashwin and Jaddu) It is tough, they have good fields set. You need to have the right balance between defending and trying to score. We didn’t execute the shots we wanted to, and we need to learn to use the bat more.”
