India and Bangladesh are set to wrestle with each other in a forthcoming multi-format series. IND vs BAN ODI series and IND vs BAN Tests series will be played during the forthcoming India tour of Bangladesh 2022. The ODI matches will take place on December 4, 7, and 10. The two Test matches commence on December 14 and December 22.

Rohit Sharma leads India in the IND vs BAN ODI series. Bangladesh is yet to announce the squad for the series. While India has many strong players in the squad in the ODI series against Bangladesh, there are a few others who might end their ODI career after the Bangladesh ODI series. Mohammed Shami is the first Indian player who might retire from ODIs after the IND vs BAN ODI series. The right-arm pacer is a regular member of the team in all three formats. Shami was also part of the recent ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

However, Shami has turned 32 years old and there are many pacers toiling hard to enter the national team in the ODI circuit. Also, Shami has a lot of workload by being a regular member of Tests. Hence, Shami might retire from ODIs after the Bangladesh series.

2. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is another player on this list. The left-handed batsman is a regular member of the team in the ODI format. However, Dhawan only represents India in the ODIs and does not play T20Is or Tests.

He has turned 36 years has only some years left in his career. He only plays as an opener and his batting position is challenged by many emerging openers like KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Rishabh Pant among others. Hence, Dhawan might look to retire from ODIs after facing Bangladesh.

Mohammed Siraj might be another Indian player who can retire from ODIs after the IND vs BAN series. Siraj is a regular member of the team in the Test format. In the ODIs and T20I, Siraj gets only a little chance. Siraj also has a lot of workload playing Tests for India. Hence, the right-arm pacer might retire from ODIs to focus more on Tests.
