The 34-year-old India National Cricket Team star Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara is all set to surpass the Australia National Cricket Team batting great Sir Don Bradman on the list of highest run-scorers in Test cricket.
Pujara looked brilliant with the bat in the first Test of the two-match series against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team and played a key role in India’s huge 188-run victory in Chattogram.

He missed out on a century in the first innings as he scored 90 runs off 203 balls, including 11 fours, before being cleaned up by Taijul Islam. However, on Day 3 of the Chattogram Test, Pujara scored his first Test ton in 52 innings and the fastest of his career.
Initially, he played his natural defensive game, but after reaching fifty the veteran batter accelerated and scored 102 off 130 balls at a strike rate of 78.46.

Overall, it was his 19th century in the longest format of the game. With 19 centuries under his belt, Pujara joined the greats like Ross Taylor, Gordon Greenidge, Clive Lloyd, and Mike Hussey.

Overall, Pujara has scored 6984 Test runs in 97 games at an average of 44.76, including 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries. He will have a chance to go past Bradman’s tally of 6996 Test runs when India lock horns with Bangladesh in the second Test in Mirpur from Thursday, December 22.
Batting great Sir Don Bradman scored 6996 runs in 52 Test matches at an unbelievable average of 99.94, including 29 tons and 13 fifties.
Meanwhile, Pujara is India’s 8th-highest run-getter in Test cricket. He went past Dilip Vengsarkar’s tally of 6868 runs in the first Test.
