Since Team India’s semi-final loss at the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, there have been demands for a split captaincy. Hardik Pandya has emerged as the frontrunner for the T20 captaincy. All-rounder has an unbeaten record of leading India in five T20Is, winning four of them with the other match ending in a tie in the recent T20I series against New Zealand.
Hardik Pandya led the Gujarat Titans (GT) to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 trophy in the franchise’s maiden season despite being the captain for the first time in the tournament.
His exploits with the IPL franchise rewarded him with the opportunity to lead the national team. Earlier this year, he guided the Men in Blue to a 2-0 series win over Ireland. The team won the three-match T20 series against the Kiwis by 1-0.

“Hardik Pandya, the way he has captained in the IPL – definitely. He has the qualities of a captain. He is cool and calm under pressure. You need a captain like that,” Rashid Khan said.
“The way he led the team, I played with him, I enjoyed a lot as a player along with him. I hope he becomes, he has that quality in him that he can lead the Indian team,” he added.
Shubman Gill Will Definitely Be Big Batter For India In The Future – Rashid Khan
Rashid went on to say that Shubman Gill will be a crucial batsman for India in the future. He added that it is too early to compare him to Virat Kohli, but that Gill has lots of talent and skill.
“Shubman Gill – he is one of my favourites, like the way he bats. We played together. The sort of mindset and approach he has, he will definitely be a big batter for India in the future.”
“It’s pretty early to compare, to say he will be the next Virat Kohli, but I think he has lots of talent and skills and I think he will have lots of achievements for Team India in the future.”
For the first time since 2015, the Men in Blue are touring Bangladesh for a bilateral series. The two teams will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Tests beginning on Sunday, December 4.
