Team India arrived in Bangladesh on Thursday for the three-match One-Day International (ODI) and two-match Test series. The first match of the three ODIs will be played in Dhaka on December 4. The ODI series will be followed by the first test at Chattogram on December 14, and the tour will conclude with the second test at Mirpur on December 22.
Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul, who did not play on the New Zealand tour, are back in the 50-over format. This is the first time that India will be playing a Test match against Bangladesh since 2015. It’s also the first time they will be playing a Test series with more than one match in the country since 2010.

I’ll Go Ahead With Rishabh Pant – Saba Karim
There have been calls for the team management to consider Sanju Samson as India’s white-ball wicketkeeper-batter for the World Cup in 2023. On the other hand, former India selector Karim remarked that he wants to see how Rishabh Pant performs in three matches in Bangladesh.
“I’ll go ahead with Rishabh Pant. I want to see how he performs in three matches in Bangladesh. Decide his batting position and play him at No. 5. If he doesn’t perform, look at some alternatives. It could be Ishan Kishan or Sanju Samson,” said Karim on India News.
Rishabh Pant’s place in the Indian white-ball set-up is again under scrutiny after his poor performance during India’s tour of New Zealand. This year, the left-handed batsman played just six one-day internationals, scoring 171 runs at an average of 34.2, including two half-centuries. Pant scored 10 and 15 in the three-match ODI series before failing to make an impression in the T20I series, scoring just 17 as an opener in two T20Is.
The Biggest Challenge For Rohit Sharma Will Be His Batting – Saba Karim
Karim believes that Rohit Sharma’s batting form will be the biggest challenge for India. The former Indian wicketkeeper went on to say that if he continues to score runs in limited-overs cricket, his captaincy will automatically improve.
“The biggest challenge for Rohit Sharma will be his batting. Your captaincy will automatically improve if you continue to perform. It’s important to score runs.”
