IND vs BAN: "I'm Sure His Mind Must Have Been Refreshed After The Break"- Wasim Jaffer On Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant will return to action for India in Test matches, where he has found the most success, after missing the ODI series against Bangladesh. Following his medical leave from the India team before to the ODIs, Pant got right to work and put in a lot of practice in the nets.
His recent performances in the Asia Cup, T20 World Cup, and New Zealand have drawn criticism from all angles for his dismal form. In fact, Pant hasn’t scored a single half-century since his match-winning century against England at Trent Bridge. Pant’s temper breakdown in a live interview during the India vs. New Zealand series, when he scored 6, 11, and 15, only made matters worse.

However, Pant can correct the record using the Chattogram. The 25-year-old has struggled in white-ball cricket but has excelled in Tests, scoring hundreds in England, Australia, and South Africa over the course of four years. Pant had two outstanding century in this year alone, both in South Africa and England.
Rishabh Pant Important Player For Team India: Wasim Jaffer
Wasim Jaffer, a former India batsman who has given his opinions on Pant ahead of the first day of the Test series, believes that the brief vacation the wicketkeeper had may really help him get a fresh start.

“Rishabh Pant has been disappointing in T20 cricket as well as ODIs for that matter, but he has got a small break. I’m sure his mind must have been refreshed after the break. He is a very important player for Team India and I feel his performances are necessary for the side,” Jaffer said on ESPNCricinfo.
As India make their long-awaited comeback to Test cricket, Pant, who has amassed 2123 runs from 31 games at an average of 43.32 and five hundreds, won’t be the only player receiving attention from the XI.
Since hosting Sri Lanka at home, they are really playing their first series in whites. They did play the postponed Test from the previous year in England, but given the T20 World Cup, they mostly played T20 Internationals.
Performances Of Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, And Shubman Gill Matter A Lot: Wasim Jaffer
Eyes will be on Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara in addition to Pant. Both had a mixed year in 2022. While Pujara has experienced a roller coaster of events, including being sacked from the team before making a comeback for the England Test, Kohli has only amassed one Test fifty this year.
Jaffer anticipates that both Kohli and Pujara, the two experienced campaigners, will succeed.
“The performances of Pujara, Kohli and Pant matter a lot. I am expecting a big score from Kohli in one contest, if not both the matches, because the pitch is really good to bat on and he looks in good form at the moment,” added the former India opener.
