Former fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad believes Team India must make “significant changes” in their approach to limited-overs cricket.
The Men in Blue were defeated by Bangladesh by five runs on Wednesday, December 7, and now trail the ODI series 0-2 with one match remaining on December 10 in Chattogram.

India suffered yet another heartbreaking loss in the second One-Day International against Bangladesh, falling short by five runs at the Sher-e-Bangla in Dhaka. Bangladesh now has a 2-0 series lead after winning the final match of the three-match ODI series. In the second ODI, Mehidy Hasan was in outstanding form, scoring an undefeated hundred and picking up two wickets.
India needed to reach 266 for nine in 50 overs to accomplish their target of 272 runs, and captain Rohit Sharma scored an undefeated half-century while batting with his left thumb firmly wrapped. Axar Patel scored 56 runs off 56 deliveries, and Shreyas Iyer scored 82 runs off 102 balls. For the hosts, Ebadot Hossain took three wickets while bowling well.
“Our approach is a decade old”: Venkatesh Prasad
Venkatesh Prasad stated that India should learn from England, who made significant changes to their cricketing culture following their early exit from the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
India is innovating in so many fields across the world. But whn it comes to playing Limited overs cricket, our approach is a decade old. England after the 2015 WC first round exit took tough calls and turned around to become such an exciting team, India need to take tough calls..

“And change approach drastically. We haven’t won a T20 WC since the IPL started & last 5 years have been poor in ODI’s apart from winning inconsequential bilateral. Haven’t learned from our mistakes for too long and are far from being an exciting team in limited-overs cricket. CHANGE,” Venkatesh Prasad added.
Having already lost the series, India will look to evade a whitewash when they take the field at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
