Wasim Jaffer on Axar Patel

Wasim Jaffer was having an interaction with ESPNcricinfo and made interesting comments on Axar Patel.

“India needs to probably bat bit more better against Shakib & Ebadot . If the team doesn’t give any wickets to Shakib then it puts a lot of pressure on the other guys,” said Wasim Jaffer.

“I think I will bring Axar Patel for Kuldeep Sen, because looking at the larger picture, because we are approaching the World Cup; then there are 20-25 games and Axar gets the most of the game time.

“On this kind of pitches, the spinners are going to do a lot of damage. Shahbaz is very new but you need a senior spinner alike Axar to come in,” he added.

Exciting Contest on Cards

India would be roaring to make a mark in the 2nd ODI as now the series is on the line. The Men in Blue need someone who could stick to the crease and play long and effective innings. As mentioned by Jaffer, the conditions are quite bowling where the batter has to be spot on with his shot selection.

Skipper Rohit Sharma had got a start as he scored 27 runs but was undone by Shakib. Rohit has shown that he can be lethal on a given day when he gets his eye in. The right-handed batter would be aware that he hasn’t played match-winning innings for the team for quite some time now.
