Shikhar Dhawan, a veteran Indian hitter, stated on Tuesday that he gets along with everyone and has no trouble working with various coaches despite playing international cricket for more than ten years. In the past, Dhawan claimed he likes working with VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid since he gets along well with both trainers.

On the eve of the second ODI against Bangladesh in Dhaka, Dhawan addressed a question from a reporter about if it was challenging to adjust to the various coaching approaches in each series.

Have a Very Good Rapport With Both Coaches: Shikhar Dhawan

Notably, Rohit Sharma was rested for the visit and Shikhar Dhawan captained India in the ODI series against New Zealand in November. After leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup in Australia, head coach Rahul Dravid was also rested for the team’s tour of New Zealand. As the interim head coach in New Zealand, VVS Laxman, the director of the National Cricket Academy, took over.

Laxman had previously helped out when Rahul Dravid was unavailable for India’s trip to Zimbabwe prior to the T20 World Cup. Laxman had also accompanied the team on their T20I series trip to Ireland while Dravid was training India’s Test team for a Test match against England.

Shikhar Dhawan is a member of Rohit Sharma’s Indian ODI team in Bangladesh. Dravid returned to the team’s lineup and traveled to Bangladesh, where they will later in December play a two-match Test series.

“Not really, I enjoy and I know both the coaches for a long time and have a very good rapport with them. It’s not difficult, I have been playing international cricket for 10-12 years, and those things don’t really make me think too deeply. I am a very friendly sort of person. I get along with everyone. I am happy with every situation,” Dhawan, who turned 37 on Monday, said.

Shikhar Dhawan Confident Of Bouncing Back

Shikhar Dhawan added that India is confident about recovering in the second ODI and tying the series. India lost the first game of the series by one wicket on Tuesday in Mirpur.

India struggled at the plate, scoring just 186 runs, but they were just inches from victory as Bangladesh collapsed to 136 for 9. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, though, delivered a brilliant knock as he and Mustafizur Rahman scored 51 runs for the last wicket to assist Bangladesh across the finish line.

India, according to Dhawan, had a team meeting where they discussed what went wrong in the first ODI and set plans to improve in the second ODI.

“We are very, very confident about tomorrow’s game. This is not the first time we have lost the first game in a series. It’s quite normal and we know how to bounce back from these situations.

Of course, Bangladesh are playing good cricket. If we see the last match, it was quite interesting game, it was a low total. In the end, they pulled the game back from us, which doesn’t happen very often. Of course, they played really well, credit to them,” Dhawan said.

“Where we need improvements, we analysed that and rectified in a team meeting. Surely, we will be creating much more impact in the coming games,” he added.
