India beat Bangladesh by three wickets in the second and final Test of the two-match series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday, December 25. Bangladesh were bowled out for 231 runs in the second innings, setting a tricky target of 145 for India to chase. The KL Rahul-led squad had lost four wickets for 45 runs at the end of Day 3 and needed 100 runs to win the game.
Liton Das put up a strong fightback with 73 off 98 balls, but Siraj bowled him when he threatened to go big. Lytton got his luck in an innings, in which Kohli dropped him twice, first off Akshar Patel and then off Ravichandran Ashwin.
Despite the missed opportunities, Kohli’s fielding position from the slips remained unchanged. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar was not impressed with Team India’s slip-catching technique.

Only Indian With More Than 200 Catches – Sunil Gavaskar
Virat Kohli had a poor performance on the field in Bangladesh’s second innings, as he dropped multiple catches at slip position. The former India captain is known for his quick reflexes on the field but failed to live up to expectations on Saturday.
While commentating for official broadcasters Sony Sports Network, Sunil Gavaskar questioned the slip-catching technique of Indians. He pointed out how Indians don’t “crouch low for spinners. They stand too upright with hands on their knees. It’s surprising that their coach is Rahul Dravid, who is probably the only Indian with more than 200 catches and a great catcher …”
It Doesn’t Send Good Signals To Kohli – Sunil Gavaskar
The former India captain spoke about Team India’s decision to send Axar at No.4 ahead of Kohli and said that the decision was completely beyond his understanding.
“It doesn’t send good signals to Kohli. To the world’s best batsman that you bat down. Unless Kohli himself asked for it, then it’s a different matter. We don’t know what happened in the changing room. But it’s hard to understand. Axar has played well, of course.“
