KL Rahul was the lone good performer for India as he scored brilliant 73 runs off 70 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. India were bundled out for 186 in 41.2 overs as left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan led from the front by picking a 5-wicket haul and he was well complemented by Ebadot Hossain, who bagged 4 wickets.

Chasing the target, Bangladesh lost the wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto on the first ball of the innings. However, Litton Das batted well and built crucial partnerships with Anamul Haque and Shakib Al Hasan.

In the end, Bangladesh were reduced to 136/9 and it looked like the Men In Blue will win the match. However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz had different a plan as he played a counterattack knock and built a remarkable 51-run partnership with Mustafizur Rahman to help Bangladesh seal a 1-wicket victory.

Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Bangladesh captain Litton Das said that he was quite nervous while watching the game from the dressing room. He said:

“Very happy. I was very nervous sitting in the dressing room. I enjoyed Mehidy’s batting in the last 6-7 overs.”

Litton Das further said that the good bowling performances of Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur in the middle overs shifted the momentum towards India.

The Bangladesh captain added that he initially thought the run-chase was easy, but it got difficult by the end. Litton Das also lavished praise on Mehidy Hasan Miraz for his match-winning knock. He said:

“Siraj and Shardul bowled very well in the middle overs and shifted the momentum towards their side. When me and Shakib were batting we thought we could chase this easily, but it got difficult after we both got out and India bowled really well. Outstanding innings from Mehidy.”
