The 28-year-old India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj has revealed that Test cricket is his favorite format of the game.
Mohammed Siraj made his Test debut for India in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He picked up 5 wickets on his Test debut and performed brilliantly throughout the series. Siraj also bagged a 5-wicket haul in the Brisbane Test to help India register a historic Test series victory.

The 28-year-old is currently in Bangladesh for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team. Speaking ahead of the commencement of the first Test, Siraj said that he prepares a lot to remain fit to play his favorite format.
“Tests are my favourite format and I prepare a lot for this to stay fit for 90 overs every day. I have been giving consistent performances in ODIs and even in Australia, that has boosted my confidence further,” the 28-year-old India pacer said while speaking to Sanjay Manjrekar for the host broadcaster, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

In 13 Tests, Mohammed Siraj has bagged 40 wickets for India at an average of 30.77 an economy of 3.31, and a strike rate of 55.7, including three 4-wicket hauls and a 5-wicket haul.

The first Test of the two-match series between KL Rahul-led India National Cricket Team and Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh National Cricket Team is being played at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from December 14 to 18.
India National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They fielded a combination of two pacers – Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav – and three spinners – Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel – in the Chattogram Test.
India are without some of their key Test players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ravindra Jadeja and the onus is on the stand-in captain KL Rahul to rally his troops and get the most out of them.
