Bangladesh Cricket Team registered a narrow victory against India in the 1st ODI. The Bangladeshi Tigers would be pumped up with this win as not many gave them a chance when they required 51 runs to win with 1 wicket in hand. Skipper Rohit Sharma would be crestfallen as the team couldn’t wrap up the match.

KL Rahul, the wicket-keeper batter was looking threatening as he scored 73 runs in 70 balls. The batter showed great application as the pitch was a sluggish one. The decision of opting to play with 4 all-rounders didn’t work well as the lower middle order fell like a pack of cards.

Mohammad Kaif on Rohit Sharma

Mohammad Kaif was having an interaction with Sony Sports Network and was asked about Rohit Sharma. “The captaincy was extremely ordinary. This was not expected from Rohit Sharma. I agree he is a good captain, but the team he is playing and the changes he is making.for Washi Sundar bowls five overs, picks up two wickets, he didn’t concede even a single boundary, and Rohit Sharma didn’t get him to bowl,” said Mohammad Kaif.

“He went with the fast bowlers who were not experienced. You talk about Kuldeep (Sen), he was playing his first match. You talk about Chahar, he is not getting a place, playing at times and is dropped on other occasions. Shardul Thakur does not play regularly. Bumrah and Shami are not here, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar does not play ODIs,” he added.

Great Triumph for Bangladesh

It won’t be wrong to say that Bangladesh took revenge of  2022 T20 WC defeat. The Bangladeshi Tigers had the fire in their eyes and showed a lot of character. The hosts are quite fortunate that they have the services of Rahim, Shakib and Mahmudullah as the trio’s presence is enough to rattle the opponent.

Skipper Rohit Sharma would be shattered with the loss. The batter needs to pull up the socks and make sure that he plays his natural game rather than getting into the shell. It would be interesting to see how the 2nd ODI pans out on Wednesday (07th December) as Bangladesh has a golden chance to win yet another ODI Series.
