IND vs BAN: Uttar Pradesh All-rounder Saurabh Kumar To Replace Ravindra Jadeja In India's Test Squad For Bangladesh Series – Reports

The 29-year-old Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Saurabh Kumar is all set to replace veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in India’s Test squad for the upcoming series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team, according to a report published by Cricbuzz.

The India tour of Bangladesh 2022 will consist of a three-match ODI series and a two-match Test series. The ODIs will be played on December 4, 7 and 10 in Mirpur. The Test matches will be played from December 14 to 18 in Chattogram and from December 22 to 26 in Mirpur.

Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who had undergone knee surgery after the Asia Cup in THE UAE and was then ruled out for an indefinite period, was named in India’s squad for the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh. However, the BCCI mentioned that his availability was subject to fitness.

Ravindra Jadeja Ruled Out Of Entire Bangladesh Tour

On November 23, the BCCI issued an official statement in which it was stated that the Bengal all-rounder Shahbaz Ahmed will replace Jadeja in India’s squad for Bangladesh ODIs.

“Jadeja is yet to recover from his knee injury and will continue to be under the supervision of the BCCI Medical team,” the BCCI press release stated.

Now, Cricbuzz is reporting that the Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Saurabh will soon be named as the replacement for Jadeja in India’s squad for Bangladesh Tests.

“Saurabh Kumar, the left-arm spinner from Uttar Pradesh, who is part of the India A side, will come in place of Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to recover from his knee injury. The national selectors will confirm the replacement in a couple of days,” as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, the full-strength India National Cricket Team, with Rohit Sharma as captain and Rahul Dravid as head coach, are all set to leave for Bangladesh on December 1.
