IND vs BAN: "We Need To Produce 13-14 Opportunities To Take Ten Wickets, Whereas The Other Sides Need Nine"- Shakib Al Hasan

When Bangladesh lost to India by three wickets in Dhaka, it was a case of “so close, yet so distant,” and Shakib Al Hasan was left regretting his team’s missed opportunities.
The first India innings saw four lost opportunities, but when Bangladesh was three wickets away and India was 65 runs short of their mark, Mominul Haque dropped R Ashwin at short leg, which ultimately proved to be the difference-maker.

“It’s a little upsetting because other teams aren’t missing the opportunities that we are. Instead of 314 points, we could have bowled them out for 250. (in the first innings). There was also a chance in the second inning… However, it is a part of cricket. We fielded well in the T20 World Cup and the One-Day International series (against India), but not in the Test match. It could be due to a lack of concentration or fitness,” Shakib stated following the game.
“We need to figure out how to focus for extended periods of time while avoiding mistakes. Other teams do not provide as many opportunities. We blow regulatory opportunities. To take ten wickets, our bowlers must create 13-14 opportunities. Other teams must create nine chances to take ten wickets” Shakib Al Hasan added.

“We had a great year in 2022”: Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib was satisfied, though, with the team’s approach throughout 2022, when they triumphed in the ODI series against India and South Africa (on the tour) and won a Test in New Zealand (at home).
