Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first in the match. Litton Das was leading the Bangla Tigers after Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the series due to a groin injury.
India, on the other hand, handed the debut cap to Madhya Pradesh pacer Kuldeep Sen and picked four all-rounders – Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar – in the playing XI.

Batting first, stalwarts of Indian cricket – Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma – failed to play big knocks in Mirpur. Mehidy Hasan Miraz dismissed Shikhar Dhawan for 7 in the 6th over while Shakib Al Hasan cleaned up Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the 11th over. Rohit Sharma scored 27 runs off 31 balls and Virat Kohli scored 9 runs off 15 balls.
The middle-order batters Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul added 43 runs together before Ebadot Hossain broke the partnership by dismissing Iyer with a short-length ball. Also, Rahul was involved in a good partnership with in-form all-rounder Washington Sundar. Together they stitched up a 60-run partnership in 75 balls.
Then, India faced a batting collapse as all four all-rounders – Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar – got out without making any major contributions with the bat. Sundar scored 19, Thakur scored 2 while Deepak Chahar and Shahbaz Ahmed were dismissed for a duck.

KL Rahul, the sole good performer for India, played a quality knock in the match. He scored wonderful 73 runs off 70 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Meanwhile, veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan led from the front by picking a 5-wicket haul and he was well complemented by Ebadot Hossain, who bagged 4 wickets. India were bundled out for 186 in 41.2 overs.
Chasing the target, Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by Deepak Chahar on the first ball of the innings for a golden duck. Anamul Haque was the second batter to get dismissed as he was sent back by Mohammed Siraj for 29-ball 14 in the 10th over.
After losing two wickets, Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan batted cautiously and they built a 48-run partnership in 61 balls. Spinner Washington Sundar removed Litton for 41 in the 20th over and Shakib for 29 in the 24th over, courtesy of Virat Kohli’s one-handed stunner.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah utilised every bit of the time and both the batters played very slow cricket. In the 35th over, Shardul Thakur trapped Mahmudullah LBW for 35-ball 14 and in the very next over Mohammed Siraj castled Mushfiqur Rahim for 45-ball 18.
Debutant Kuldeep Sen produced a 2-wicket over by dismissing Afif Hossain and Ebadot Hossain in the 39th over. Also, Siraj dismissed Hasan Mahmud for a duck in the 40th over to reduce Bangladesh to 136/9.

In the end, Mehidy Hasan Miraz gave an extraordinary fight to India by playing a counterattack knock and building a remarkable 51-run partnership with Mustafizur Rahman.
Miraz smashed a terrific 38* runs off 39 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes, and Mustafizur scored 10* runs off 11 balls to help the Bangla Tigers win the match. Notably, KL Rahul had dropped the catch of Mehidy Hasan Miraz in the 43rd over when he was batting at 17.

All teams go through a down cycle. It’s India’s turn. What isn’t helping is Rohit Sharma’s body language. If the captain’ is constantly scowling & flailing in frustration it’s lousy leadership.#INDvsBAN

no matter what strong position bangla are in against india, they'll somehow choke from nowhere & make the game very interesting & most of the times will bottle it too

KL Rahul can bat extremely well one day and field well the next. But cannot multitask. Is there one day this guy goes without getting trolled? :/
