Indian batter and former Indian captain, Virat Kohli, achieved, yet another milestone as his bat did the talking in the final ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh. Virat Kohli has now gone past Ricky Ponting to become the batter with 2nd most international centuries after Sachin Tendulkar.
The run-machine was at his vintage best in Chattogram after being given a couple of breathers early on by the Bangladesh skipper. His innings, though record-breaking, was overshadowed by Ishan Kishan’s marvelous knock as the latter became the 4th Indian batter to hit an ODI double-century.

Virat, as always, played the anchor’s role around Ishan Kishan while the latter kept smashing the Bangladesh bowlers all over the park. The former Indian captain took the charge when Kishan departed, having already broken a plethora of international records.
Soon, Virat too reached his 72nd international century, which also marked his 44th ODI century. Virat had not scored a century in the ODIs since June 2019 and after smashing his 72nd, he dropped the F-Bomb saying, ‘3 Fuc**ng Years Boss!!’

KL Rahul was at the other end when Virat completed his 100 as team India cruised to a mammoth total. After the heavy batting exploits of Virat and Ishan, the rest of the Indian batting lineup couldn’t gather much as they ended up finishing at 409/8 in their 20 overs.
Team India tied the record for scoring the most 400 runs in ODIs alongside South Africa. Post this century, Virat also went past former Australian captain Ricky Ponting to become the player with the 2nd most centuries in the history of international cricket.
Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar takes the top spot in the list, having scored 100 international centuries, the only man on Planet Earth to have achieved this feat. Virat finished his knock at 113 runs off 91 balls, playing with a Strike Rate of more than 120.
