"WTF..BC..": Watch – Rohit Sharma Abuses Washington Sundar For Dropping Mehidy Hasan Miraz's Catch

The 23-year-old all-rounder Washington Sundar’s lazy fielding effort in the first ODI of the three-match series against Bangladesh National Cricket Team left the India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma fuming.

The India tour of Bangladesh 2022 kicked off with the first ODI of the three-match series at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Sunday, December 4.

Losing the toss and batting first, India were bundled out for 186. KL Rahul was the top-scorer for his side as he scored wonderful 73 runs off 70 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Veteran Bangladesh spinner Shakib Al Hasan picked up a 5-wicket haul and pacer Ebadot Hossain bagged 4 wickets in the match.

Chasing the target, captain Litton Das played a good 41-run knock, but after his dismissal, Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals and they were reduced to 136/9. However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s heroics helped the Bangla Tigers win by 1 wicket. Miraz smashed terrific 38 runs off 39 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes.

During the run-chase, the poor fielding efforts of the Indian players left Rohit Sharma furious. India’s vice-captain KL Rahul dropped the catch of Mehidy Hasan Miraz on the third ball of the 43rd over when he was batting at 17, which was the turning point in the match.

On the fourth ball of the same over, pacer Shardul Thakur bowled a length ball outside off-stump to Mehidy Hasan Miraz and the batter top-edged the ball towards the third-man fielder, Washington Sundar.

There was an opportunity for Sundar to grab the catch, but he made no attempts on the field and the ball simply fell in front of him.

Rohit Sharma was extremely furious looking at Sundar’s poor fielding effort. He lost his cool and ended up abusing the youngster in the process. “What the f**k, Bhe*c**d,” frustrated Rohit screamed.
