ENG vs IND: England Announce 15-Men Squad For 3-Match ODI Series Against India

England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) Men’s selection panel have named squads for the upcoming three-match T20I and ODI series versus India starting on 7 July at the Ageas Bowl. The England team will be captained by Jos Buttler after the retirement of Eoin Morgan last month.

England and India will play three ODIs, beginning July 12 in Oval, while the next two matches will take place at Lord’s on July 14 and Old Trafford on July 17. Yorkshire spinner Adil Rashid has been given permission by the ECB to miss both series to make pilgrimage.

This will also be the first time Jos Buttler gets to work with the new leadership group at the top consisting of Rob Key, England’s managing director of men’s cricket, and Brendon McCullum and Matthew Mott, the red- and white-ball coaches respectively.

Ben Stokes, Joe Root And Jonny Bairstow Named In England ODI Squad

The ODI squad will feature England players from the ongoing fifth Test match between India and England. Most notably Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, and Ben Stokes will play in the ODI series.

Matt Parkinson gets a callup and may play his first limited-overs internationals in nearly 12 months, as Adil Rashid is on Hajj leave. A beneficiary of Eoin Morgan’s retirement was Harry Brook, who was named in both T20I and ODI squads and will expect to slot in the middle order spot left empty by the former captain.
