England is set to face India in the rescheduled Test match. The ENG vs IND 5th Test begins on July 1 (Friday) at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. England is led by their new skipper Ben Stokes in the match. Rohit Sharma is the skipper of India.

England rails behind 1-2 in the series. Last year, England managed to win 1 game and lost 2 Test games against India out of 4 matches. In the recent Test series against New Zealand, the left-handed batsman scored 169 runs in 6 innings at an average of 28.17 while batting as an opener. He also hit 1 half-century. Lees is expected to open the batting for England against India as well.

Zak Crawley

Zak Crawley might be another opener for England in ENG vs IND 5th Test. In the recent Test series against New Zealand, the right-handed batsman scored 87 runs in 6 innings. He failed to score any half-century. However, England does not have many options for openers in the squad and Crawley and Lees have done fine work for them in the recent Test campaigns.

Ollie Pope might take the no.3 spot for the team in ENG vs IND 5th Test. In the recent Test series against New Zealand, Pope did wonders at the one-down position. The right-handed batsman mustered 267 runs in 6 innings in the series at an average of 44.50. He also hit 1 fifty and 1 century in the series.

Joe Root will bat for England in the middle-order against India. The right-handed batsman also gave a good performance against New Zealand recently. Root smacked 396 runs in 6 innings at an outstading average of 99.0. He slammed 1 fifty and 2 centuries during the series. Hence, the former England skipper looks in good form and will aim to rock with his bat against India as well.

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow might be another middle-order batter for the team in ENG vs IND 5th Test. The right-handed batter gave a fabulous performance in the recent Test series. In the one Test against New Zealand, Billings did not get a chance to bat. However, he did a good job behind the stumps. In the absence of Foakes, he might again keep the stumps for England.

Matthew Potts might be one of the pacers for England in the Test match. The right-arm pacer made a fabulous debut in the previous series against New Zealand, grabbing 14 wickets in 3 Tests at an average of 23.29. He was also the top wicket-taker for England. Hence, Potts might again play against India in the one-off Test.

James Anderson

James Anderson might be another pacer for England in the match. The right-arm pacer gave a good show in the previous series. He hunted 11 wickets in just 2 games at a brilliant average of 18.64. Anderson has been very dangerous against India in Tests and will be a crucial pacer for England in the match.
