Former Indian cricketer RP Singh believes that Hardik Pandya’s bowling has a certain rhythm to it which has led to him being successful in the white-ball series against England.

Hardik registered his career-best figures of 4/24 in ODIs during the final game against England at Old Trafford on Sunday. He went on score a quick-paced 55-ball 71 to help India chase down 260 and win the series 2-1.

He bent his back and looked in rhythm as well, which is why he was successful. He has come back as an improved bowler after injury. There is better planning in his bowling. Earlier also, he used to run in hard and send down short balls. But now, he thinks hard and knows when to bowl the bouncer,” Singh told Cricbuzz.

It is great that Hardik is claiming wickets because when you bowl with a slightly older ball, there is less bounce. The probability of picking up wickets is not that high,” he also said.

“What is important is that Hardik Pandya is bowling and claiming crucial wickets” – Pragyan Ojha

Ojha felt that Hardik’s performance was the major difference between the two sides on Sunday. He effectively used the short ball against the top-order of England and also ensured he was miserly with his economy at one end.

Hardik Pandya made a big difference because he claimed four wickets with a somewhat older ball. If we look at England, they got three early wickets, but once the ball got a bit older, none of their bowlers could contribute much. We know how well Pandya can bat, but what is important is that he is bowling and claiming crucial wickets,” Ojha mentioned.
