IND vs ENG: Disappointing To Lose But On A Personal Note, Great Start - Richard Gleeson

England bowler Richard Gleeson had a fantastic debut for England in the second T20I against India. He picked up three wickets in four overs, including the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
The lanky pacer was hard to get away from for the Indian batters and he finished with impressive figures of 3/15. However, India still managed to post 170 on the board which proved to be 49 runs too many for the hosts.
“Yeah, obviously great to make my debut, but it’s all about winning games of cricket really, at the end of the day. So it’s, yeah, disappointing to lose, but on a personal note, great start,” Gleeson said in the post-match press conference.

“I think maybe they (India) were a little bit over-par. And then obviously they started well with the ball. So that’s always going to put us on the back foot, and they bowled well. But that can be the way T20 cricket goes at times,” he added.
“I don’t think we’ll be taking a backwards step in the next game” – Richard Gleeson
Gleeson insisted that their style of play doesn’t work every time but a couple of setbacks will not force the team to change their game plan altogether.
“You play the game hard, so sometimes you come off, sometimes you don’t. It’s just you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth if you’re going to play that way, and I don’t think we’ll be taking a backwards step in the next game,” he concluded.

Interestingly, both India and England have been going for broke in the batting innings which sets up for another entertaining clash in the final T20I which will be played on Sunday.
