England take on India in the second ODI with an eye to level the series at Lord’s on July 14. India won the first ODI at The Oval by 10 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts are now facing a must-win situation and need to win the next game to take the series to a decider.
Skipper Jos Buttler lamented the batting effort from his teammates as four of them were dismissed for ducks. He further spoke about picking themselves up as a group and coming back in the second ODI.
“Very tough day to take, but we’ve got to dust ourselves down quickly. Little surprised by the movement, bit muggy. India exposed the conditions superbly. They have bowled really well in the powerplay. It is something we need to discuss and work out. We have some guys in the form of their lives in Tests coming here and getting nicked off” said the England skipper after the first ODI loss.
