The 33-year-old Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla said that the senior India batter Virat Kohli, who has been struggling for runs, was selfless in his approach in the second T20I of the three-match T20I series against England at the Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Virat Kohli, who failed to deliver a good performance for India in the rescheduled Test against England, was able to score only one run off 3 balls in Edgbaston T20I before being dismissed by debutant Richard Gleeson.

Speaking to ESPNCricinfo after the second T20I game, Chawla said that Kohli, despite not being in good form, kept the team ahead of himself and got out while playing an attacking stroke. He said:
“Speaking of Virat Kohli and his wicket, he played for the team and embraced their attacking brand of cricket. He saw that the ball was there to be hit and he went for it. Although he isn’t in the greatest of forms, what’s important to see is that he kept his team ahead of himself.”
Piyush Chawla Feels Virat Kohli Is “Capable Of Adapting To The Team’s Needs”

The 33-year-old further said that the modern-day great Virat Kohli is fully capable of adapting to the team’s needs. He added that Kohli just needs one good innings to get his form back. He asserted:
“Virat Kohli is capable of adapting to the team’s needs. It is just a matter of one innings and one big score and we will be able to see the Kohli that we wanted to from the past 18 months.”
Meanwhile, the third and final match of the three-match T20I series between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team will be played at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Sunday, July 10.

India have an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series after winning the first game by 50 runs and the second game by 49 runs. After the T20I series, India will play the three-match ODI series against England.
