IND vs ENG Head to Head Records, India’s Head-to-Head Record Against England – India Tour Of England 2022, 5th Test

India and England go head to head against each other in the rescheduled 5th Test in Edgbaston, Birmingham from July 1. The visitors were leading the series 2-1in 2021 before the fifth Test was postponed due to a covid scare in the Indian camp. Both the boards then agreed to play the final Test in Birmingham in 2022.
Both teams will be led by new captains in the 5th IND vs ENG Test match. India will be led by Rohit Sharma and England by Be Stokes. Rohit’s availability for the game is doubtful as he is down with covid. In case he fails to recover on time, Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side in his absence. He will also become India’s sixth captain in 2022 to lead the side.
“Update on Rohit is that he is monitored by our medical team and we still got 36 hours to go. He is not yet ruled out. He will have a test tonight and in the morning to see if he is available. Of course, he will have to return negative to play the Test,” Dravid said ahead of the 5th Test.
As far as England is concerned, they have named the same side that played the third Test against New Zealand. Sam Billings who was a part of England’s squad has been retained for this Test match as well. England are trailing in the series by 1-2 and needs to win the Test match to draw the IND vs ENG series. India, on the other hand, are eyeing an elusive win.
The Ben Stokes led-side are fresh off a Test series win against New Zealand at home. They played the series with an ultra-aggressive approach that would define the new dawn of English Test cricket. Stokes further said that they would play with the same approach against India as well.
