IND vs ENG: It May Be More Than A Niggle If Virat Kohli Did Not Play The Next Match- Pragyan Ojha On Indian Batter's Injury

Former Indian left-arm spin bowler Pragyan Ojha has mentioned that if Virat Kohli misses the second ODI against England on Thursday (July 14), his injury may be more serious.
The former Team India skipper did not take part in the first one-day of the three-match series, which began on Tuesday at the Kennington Oval in London (July 12).

After stunningly defeating the opposition by a margin of 10 wickets in the first game, Team India claimed a 1-0 series lead. Ojha said that Kohli should be well for the second game if he is only experiencing minor discomfort. He clarified during a conversation on Cricbuzz:

“Virat should play if fit. He will not be eligible for the first ODI, but he will be for the second and third match, I had heard. I believe it was more out of caution than hurt, in order to prevent the ache from getting worse. However, it would be more than a minor inconvenience if Kohli missed the upcoming match. The groin damage may be more severe than initially thought.”

According to ANI, Kohli is still recovering from a groin injury and will not play in the second ODI, which will be played at Lord’s on Thursday.
When questioned which batsman could perhaps make way for Kohli if he is fit for the next game, Ojha responded:

“It will be interesting to see who is replaced if Kohli comes in, just in case he is fit.” My opinion would be between Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav.”
The second One-Day International (ODI) will begin on July 14 at Lord’s, with India looking to wrap up the series following their victory in the T20 leg.
